Not much. His first name it is Jil, standing for the initials of Jil Is Lucky. He is 24 years old and lives in Paris for the moment. We might have seen him on the Andes road, we might have heard him at Harlem’s All Saints Church, and thinking about it anywhere in Europe. Even a bar in India owes its name to him. For a few years, he has traveled alone the world polishing his pop, No-folk music, far from the stereotypes of the kind. Through his wanderings between Prague’s ghetto and the fiery neighborhoods of Algeria’s Sidi Bel-Abbès he found his musicians. Consequently, they follow him and assert “his” philosophy. Jil accommodates them after a long preliminary work. A musical and philosophical initiation several months at the feet of the rock of Sainte-Victoire, thus the group records its first eponymous album. A quasi religious retirement gives rise to twelve titles. Room Thirteen He looks like white guy who hangs around with Bootsy Collins and he sounds like an upbeat and more than slightly fantastic blend of Cat Stevens, World Party and someone really, really, good, sooo good that I can't quite place them. new rock Belgium sensation !
2 pages in the Red Bulletin (dec 2009 The Independant). Paris, January 2006. A 8 track recorder, a rythm box, one guitar and a bass, Dan Klein is recording his first demo and creating his Myspace, thatís it, the Vismets project has seen the light ! Back in Brussels, Dan joins forces with other musicians. In October 2007 the line up rehearsing for their first album is composed of Nicolas Collaer on drums, Anthony Klein on guitar and keys, and Dan Klein himself on Guitar and Vocals. The immediate succes of that first gig welded the three members of the band. Their four tracks Ep is out on the very beginning of 2008 and from that moment on, the band played all over Belgium and France. In 2009 the Vismets became a fourtet after welcoming Remy Lebbos . RÈmy had already played with the Klein brothers in the past . They locked themselves in a studio in order to prepare their debut album which is due to be out for springtime 2010. Their first extract of the album “Wasted Party” went on heavy rotation on national radios playlists. Their Music? ´Off the rails barrocco rock No boundaries, no defined directions!
